Screen Actors Guild Presents ‘The Black Hollywood Experience: Our History..Our Future’

Black Hollywood Experience SAG PanelBack in February, a panel discussion about African-Americans in film and television was held at the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles. Moderated by comedian, game-show host and Emmy® winner, Wayne Brady, this panel includes Oscar™ nominees, Don Cheadle (Crash, Hotel Rwanda), John Singleton (Boyz in the Hood, Shaft), Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) and Emmy® nominee Marla Gibbs (The Jeffersons, 227, The Hughleys).

As trailblazers in the entertainment industry, several of whom are multi-hyphenate actors, directors, writers and producers, this prestigious group of panelists addressed the history and future of African-Americans in film and television, as well as their own career-building stories and strategies.
