‘Cloud Atlas’ To Begin Production Next Month

'Cloud Atlas' Halle BerryHalle Berry‘s new film ‘Cloud Atlas,’ is set to begin production next month in Germany. It’s been delayed by ongoing contract negotiations with talent.

The film stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Ben Whishaw and Jim Broadbent. The project was rumored to have a budget of $100 – 150 Million. However, a producer for the film, Stefan Ardnt denied those claims by statig the budget for Cloud will be “definitely lower” than then the rumored $100 million.

The film, based on David Mitchell‘s novel of the same name, will focus on six different story-lines, each of them set in a different location and era. The epic pic will be shot in parallel by two different film crews. The famed duo behind the Matrix franchise co-wrote the script and will also co-direct the film. Sounds pricey, right? “Many have called the novel unfilmable, but Tom and the Wachowskis have found a way to tell these stories in an amazing, linear and very cinematic way,” Arndt said.

Details about Berry’s role in the film have yet to be revealed. But the film producers note the actors will play more than one role in the various storylines.
