Learn How To Act With Malik Yoba at LIU

Malik Yoba will teach an acting workshop at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus beginning next week.

Students will learn the fundamentals of acting in theater, film and television. The course will be a combination; workshop and lecture series with an emphasis on scene study, improvisation, character breakdown, audition techniques, cold reads, acting for film, television, theater and public speaking.

Required Texts: “Truth: Personas, Needs, and Flaws in The Art of Building Actors and Creating
Characters,” by Susan Batson, Rugged Land, 2007. “Respect for Acting,” by Uta Hagen, Wiley, 2nd Edition, 2008

The classes will be held on Sept 20th, 22nd, 27th, and 29th. Classes meet at 1 University Plaza, Downtown Brooklyn, NY. in the Kumble Theater from 6pm-9pm. Tuition is $595. Visit their website or call 718-488-1364
