Spike Lee’s ‘Red Hook Summer’ Cast, Release Date

Spike Lee's 'Red Hook Summer'Actor and Director Spike Lee recently announced a Summer 2012 release date for his new film, Red Hook Summer.

The film is about an Atlanta resident who spends a summer in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

While the main characters have yet to be identified, we do know Spike will reprise his role of “Mookie” from his 1989 flick Do The Right Thing. According to IMDB, some of the black characters in the new film are played by Kalon Jackson, Treme‘s Clarke Peters, and Heather Simms. Other actors reportedly attached to the film include Nate Parker and Turron Kofi Alleyne.

The film wrapped recently and no significant details have been released. We’ll keep you posted about any future developments.
