Cedric The Entertainer Lands TV Land Comedy Pilot, Soul Train Hosting Gig

Cedric The Entertainer (née Cedric Antonio Kyles) may soon get his own TV Land sitcom based on his appearance on a recent episode of Hot in Cleveland.

The potential Hot in Cleveland spinoff follows Cedric’s character Reverend Boyce as he moves to Cedric’s hometown of St. Louis and has to balance his wild past with the expectations of his congregation and his family, reports Deadline. Production is set to begin Dec. 2.

The actor/comedian will also host the upcoming Soul Train Awards, which will air on both BET and Centric, on Sunday, November 27.

Cedric The Entertainer’s acting credits include “The Honeymooners,” “Barbershop,” and most recently “Larry Crowne.”
