Eddie Murphy Wants Kevin Hart For ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ TV Show

According to Kevin Hart‘s post on facebook, he’s being considered for the leading role in Eddie Murphy‘s forthcoming ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ television spinoff.  The series, based off the hit 80’s movie in which Murphy starred as Axel Foley, is currently in development. It’s unclear whether a formal offer has been made to the comedian.

Kevin Hart writes:

Thanks to my fans I just found out Eddie Murphy said he wants me to play Axel Foley on his new tv show Beverly Hills Cop…I’m flattered and speechless right now…Thank yall for passing the message to me

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Murphy explains “What I’m trying to do now is produce a TV show starring Axel Foley’s son, and Axel is the chief of police now in Detroit. I’d do the pilot, show up here and there.”

So, we’ll see how this plays out. Developing…
