The network confirmed that Peete will appear in multiple episodes of hit comedy series Mike and Molly.

“She’ll play a love interest to Mike’s (Billy Gardell) partner on the police force, Carl (Reno Wilson), who’s romantically challenged,” reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Peete was one of the original hosts on daytime talk show The Talk, but was unexpectedly let go and replaced by comedian Cheryl Underwood over the summer. Fans were so outraged by the changes that they formed a Facebook page in an effort to bring back Peete (and her former co-host Leah Remini).

Peete took to twitter to thank her followers for supporting her through recent setbacks, tweeting ‘it hasn’t been easy.” There was no mention of when the actress would appear on the show.

Mike and Molly airs Mondays at 9:30pm EST on CBS.
