Black star power was out in full effect at the Broadway opening of The Mountaintop. The official opening performance delivered rave reviews, and a star-studded red carpet and after party. Some of the black actors to show up included the cast Angela Bassett and Samuel L Jackson. Others included the legendary Ruby Dee, Cicely Tyson, Phylicia Rashad, Courtney B Vance, Debbie Allen, Yaya Dacosta, Giancarlo Esposito, Tisha Campbell Martin, Gabourey Sidibe, Spike Lee, Tasha Smith, Alicia Keys, and Anna Maria Horsford.
