Forest Whitaker, Common To Star in Indie Crime Drama ‘Pawn’
Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and Common have been cast in David A. Armstrong‘s directorial debut ‘Pawn.’
The film is described as “an independent crime film centered around a hostage situation that has gone terribly wrong,” according to Deadline. No details have been released on what roles the actors will have in the film, but plot details have been leaked.
Written by Jay Anthony White, the film’s plot centers around an ex-con who becomes entangled in a manipulative chess game between the Feds, local police and the mob. The film, which starts filming Dec. 1st, also stars The Shield‘s Michael Chiklis.
Whitaker has tons of projects coming out. He is currently in Canada filming ‘The Truth’ with Eva Longoria, he also recently wrapped filming ‘Vipaka’ in Lousiana, stars in a new film ‘Catch .44′ in limited release, and recently joined Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comeback flick “Last Stand.” Common can currently be seen on AMC’s new original series “Hell on Wheels,” and in theaters as the animated character Seymour in “Happy Feet Two.”
