Ron Cephas Jones, Tonya Pinkins, Saycon Sengbloh Cast in Katori Hall’s ‘Hurt Village’

The initial casting has been announced for Katori Hall‘s new Broadway play, Hurt Village, to run February 7 – March 18. Patricia McGregor will direct the production, which will officially open on February 27.

According to Theater Mania, the play focuses on “a teenage girl, her mother and great-grandmother as they prepare to move out of a housing project in Memphis, Tennessee thanks to a government grant and find that their plans are disrupted by the unexpected return of the girls’ father form a tour of duty in Iraq.”

Ron Cephas Jones, Tonya Pinkins, Nicholas Christopher, Saycon Sengbloh, Joaquina Kalukango, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Amari Cheatom, and Corey Hawkins are all set to star in the production.

Hall is the playright behind the award-winning production The Mountaintop, which is currently playing on Broadway with Angela Bassett and Samuel L Jackson.
