Idris Elba, Octavia Spencer Win Big at 2012 Golden Globe Awards
Octavia Spencer won a 2012 Golden Globe award for her role as Minnie in the critically acclaimed film The Help. Spencer was chosen as the second best performance of 2011 by BlackActors.net editors.
Idris Elba also won the Best Performance by an Actor in BBC’s “Luther” TV series. The actor, who’s currently filming Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim in Toronto, recently spoke with MTV about his award win and his upcoming projects. “I’m going back tomorrow morning. I’ve been there for five months,” Elba said. “I love it. Guillermo’s a genius, and the film we’re making is a huge film, bad monster movie and robots and me.”
