Gabrielle Union may be headed to your television screen. The Good Deeds star has been tapped to star as lead in husband-wife duo Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil‘s new BET comedy pilot, Single Black Female.

According to Deadline, the hour-long pilot, which is expected to air in August, “chronicles the work and family life of a Black woman who is the host of a popular Atlanta-based talk show host in the vein of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Union was recently attached to another potential comedy series with FOX Studios. Unfortunately, the project was dropped after two pilot episodes failed to deliver.

The actress can be seen next in Think Like a Man, which hits theaters on April 20.
