Here’s the new poster (seen above) for Salim Akil‘s Sparkle remake. A glamourous Jordin Sparks stuns in a red gown and bouffant retro hair. Based on Sam O’Steen‘s 1976 original, Sparkle stars Sparks, Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick, Whitney Houston, Tika Sumpter, Carmen Ejogo, Cee Lo Green, and Mike Epps. The film follows a 60′s girl group as they struggle with fame and family drama. 

The film hits theaters August 17th.
