Jay Ellis cast as male lead in BET’s ‘The Game’

Jay Ellis has joined the cast of B.E.T’s critically acclaimed football drama series “The Game,” replacing Pooch Hall as the male lead.

Ellis, who has appeared in several hit shows including “NCIS,” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” will join the series as it moves into its sixth season. Ellis will star alongside previously announced cast member Lauren London as her love interest and member of the football tem.

According to the LA Times, Ellis will play “Bryce ‘The Blueprint’ Westbrook, a.k.a. Blue, a star running back from an Ivy League school who has a tendency to rub his new professional teammates the wrong way.”

Despite several public pleas from Hall to stay on the show, the network has decided to move  the series in a new direction by casting fresh new talent.

Most of the supporting characters will be back next season. Coby BellWendy Raquel Robinson,Hosea SanchezBrandy Norwood, and Barry A. Floyd are all on board to return for season 6.
