Anthony Mackie in talks to play superhero in ‘Captain America’ Sequel
Anthony Mackie is definitely on course to takeover Hollywood with his talent. The 32-year-old actor, who has a slew of upcoming projects, including Runner Runner, is reportedly in negotiations to join Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Mackie is ruomred to play Falcon, one of mainstream comics’ first black superheroes and possibly the first American one.
“The character, Sam Wilson, is Harlem-based and had many street adventures with Cap in the 1970s comics, when he served as his parter,” reports The Hollywood Reporter. “He derives his powers from a suit that allows him to fly and enhances his strength. he can also telepathically talk to birds. In current comics, Falcon is a key player to many of Cap’s espionage adventures.”
The pic, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, is expected to be released on April 4, 2014.
