Jesus Christ Superstar’s Marcus Nance Headlines Solo Concert
Stage star Marcus Nance will headline “Marcus Nance and Friends” tonight, July 9 at The Metropolitan Room. The event is described as an elegant evening of jazz, cabaret, theatre and opera of the finest kind. The show starts at 9:30pm.
As a fan of both the classy era of Johnny Hartman and Sarah Vaughan and the impressive showmanship of the opera and theatre worlds, Nance celebrates these traditions together in this regular series of cabarets featuring New York’s finest singers and musicians.
Nance has captivated audiences across Canada and the United States with his magnetic stage presence and lustrous bass-baritone voice. He is equally at home in theatre, opera, concert, and cabaret while setting the highest standards in each, vocally and theatrically. Most recently, Nance ended his run on Broadway as Caiaphas in Jesus Christ Superstar, a role he also performed at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.
Guests will include The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess‘ Roosevelt Andre, Miss Fresno County Valerie Salcedo, Canadian Idol winner Melissa O’Neil, with Katrina Reynolds and Julius Sermonia of Broadway’s Jesus Christ Superstar.
