Octavia Spencer eyed for role in ‘Rush Hour 4’

Oscar winner Octavia Spencer is reportedly being considered to star alongside Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan in the fourth installment of the Rush Hour franchise.

Producer Arthur Sarkissian made the revelation over the weekend during an interview with Crave Online at the Television Critics Association Summer press tour in Beverly Hills.

When discussing revamping the aging franchise, the producer shared a few ideas and possible new additions to the cast.

“Maybe younger, maybe Chris [Tucker] is now married, maybe Jackie [Chan] is married to Octavia Spencer, I don’t know,” said Sarkissian. “Married to Chris’s cousin, they live in Shanghai, Chris goes out to visit them. I don’t know, I want something energetic.”

Although the script has not yet been written and no role has been formally offered, Sarkissian is confident he will get Spencer to come on board.
