The official preview trailer for Lifetime’s all-black Steel Magnolias remake has finally hit the web. Based on the  original stage play and the 1989 original movie, the telepic follows  a close group of women from a Louisiana community. We get to see all of the classic characters come back to life in the form of Queen Latifah, Condola Rashad, Phylicia Rashad, Jill Scott, Alfre Woodard, and Adepero Oduye.

A premiere date is expected to be scheduled for later this year.

UPDATED: Steel Magnolias will premiere Sunday, October 7 at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
