Brandon Jay McLaren, best known for his portrayal of murder suspect Bennet Ahmed on AMC’s The Killing, spoke with Zap2it to give some insight on his latest television project.

As we previously reported, McLaren joined an untitled USA drama pilot last year. Well, it looks as though the pilot has been picked up to series and the show will now be billed as Graceland.

In Graceland, the story follows agents from various federal and local agencies (DEA, FBI, LAPD) who live at an undercover house in Southern California.

Reports maintained McLaren would play a hot-head cop, but we didn’t know much past that until now. “I play this hot-tempered, undercover customs agents who’s not that friendly to the new guy initially, but as you get into the story, you realize he has a big heart,” he says. “The new character is not even tempered at all. If anything, he’s kind of like, ‘Leave me alone.’ Kind of a little grumpy.”

When discusses the plot further, the actor elaborates. “A new kid straight out of high school gets shipped to our house to live with us, but we don’t really know why he’s there. It turns out that he may be there to do an internal investigation,” he says.

McLaren’s television credits include “Power Rangers S.P.D,” and “Being Erica.” He currently appears on TNT’s Falling Skies.

Graceland starts production in November, but won’t hit the small screen until sometime next year.
