Theatre Talk: ‘Bring It On’ Breaks Ground, Broadway Gets ‘Kinky,’ and ‘Ghost’ Closes

David Singletary gives his weekly roundup of the latest news coming out of Broadway. So what’s new? Billy Porter and understudy Clifton Oliver are officially gearing up for their debut in ‘Kinky Boots,’ which previews in Chicago this fall and debuts on Broadway next spring. New musical ‘Bring It On’ breaks ground with an unconventional role. Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ becomes the 5th longest running show in Broadway history. And sadly, ‘Ghost: The Musical’ closed this past Saturday. Several lucky theatergoers won free front-row tickets to see the final bow.
