Harold Perrineau Makes ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 5 Debut (PHOTOS)
As previously reported, actor Harold Perrineau has joined the cast of FX’s grizzly drama ‘Sons of Anarchy. ‘ The ‘Lost’ actor made his debut tonight on the Season 5 premiere episode and he didn’t disappoint.
The new season sees Perrineau as a wealthy, ex-drug kingpin who rose from the streets to build an empire. His character, Damon Pope, wreaks havoc on the biker town after his daughter is accidentally killed. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed where he got inspiration for the sinister role.
“There are a bunch of guys like that in New York – because that’s where I grew up – that I sort of take little bits and pieces from here and there,” said Perrineau. “A lot of those old school gangland guys, those guys who end up not dying but retiring. I did a lot of work and research about those guys.”
Perrineau joins a growing list of black actors to appear on the series. Some of those names include Billy Brown, Amin Joseph, Rockmond Dunbar, Mo McRae, James Moses Black, LaMonica Garrett and B.J. Britt.
Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
