Lionsgate does it again! Black actor Jeffrey Wright has joined the growing cast of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Wright will play Beete, an elderly electronics whiz who competes against previous Hunger Games winners in the quarter quell games. Wright will use his electronics expertise to help him fight (his nickname is ‘Volts’). The actor reportedly beat out Tony Shaloub for the role in the blockbuster sequel.

Wright joins previously announced Meta Golding, E. Roger Mitchell, Maria Howell, and returning cast member Lenny Kravitz.

Wright was recently seen in Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and can be seen next in Broken City. The actor is currently shooting The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete in New York City.
