Wild With HappyTony nominee Colman Domingo returns to the stage this fall with Sharon Washington, Korey Jackson and Maurice McRae in his new dramedy Wild With Happy, which will begin performances Oct. 9 at The Public Theater.

The play, written by Domingo, will be presented as part of the Public’s 2012-13 season and will run through Nov. 11. Wild With Happy centers on an actor who returns to Philadelphia after his mother dies. The Public bills the show as “a deeply imaginative and utterly outrageous new work that explores the bizarre comedy that lies within death and healing. Wild With Happy follows the journey of a young man named Gil who plans to scatter his mother’s ashes in the place where she was the most happy.”

Domingo (Scottsboro Boys, Passing Strange) will play the lead role of Gil, with Jackson (Jamaica) as Terry, Maurice McRae (“24,” “NYPD Blue”) as Mo, and Washington (Ths Scottsboro Boys) as Adelaide.
