Chris Tucker makes his return to the big screen this month in the highly-buzzed dramedy Silver Linings Playbook.

The film, directed by Oscar nominee David O Russell (The Fighter), follows the story of Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper), a former teacher who moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious widow with problems of her own.

In Silver Linings Playbook, Tucker plays  Pat’s quirky friend Danny — for which he is also earning early critical praise. His character provides comic relief, but director Russell had to reign him in on set. “Once I go too far, David is like, ‘Don’t do that. Do this,’ you know. That’s the privilege of working with a great director,” Tucker told reporters recently at the Toronto International Film Festival [via eurweb.com].
