First Look at Patina Miller as Leading Player in ART’s ‘Pippin’ Musical (Photo)

Patina Miller as Leading Player in 'Pippin'Here’s a fist look at Tony nominee Patina Miller in full costume as the Leading Player in the American Repertory Theater production of Pippin the musical.

An overjoyed Miller shared the picture on twitter last night. “First run through in costumes!!! #magic todo #pippin,” wrote Miller.

As previously reported, Miller will assume the role of Leading Player, a character who has historically been male. Leading Player, a role originated by Ben Vereen in the 1972 Broadway production, is described as somewhat of a master of ceremonies.

Pippin with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Roger O. Hirson, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus (The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess), begins previews on Wednesdy, December 5 at the Loeb Drama Center.
