Cynthia Kaye McWilliams Stars in BET’s ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’

Cynthia Kaye McWilliamsCynthia Kaye McWilliams is recurring, opposite comedy giant Kevin Hart, on BET’s highly anticipated semi-scripted sitcom, Real Husbands of Hollywood, premiering January 15th at 10pm/9c. McWilliams, a Chicago native, brings her comedy chops to RHOH as Hart’s sharp and quick witted entertainment lawyer, Trina Shaw, whom Kevin affectionately dubs “The Big T.” She has previously landed recurring roles on both FOX’s Chicago Code and Prison Break and appears this week on CW’s Hart of Dixie.

Real Husbands of Hollywood, whose cast also includes Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, JB Smoove and Robin Thicke, spoofs the successful Bravo “Housewives” franchise. The comedy series promises a surreal look at Hollywood celebrity from the point of view of men whose wives also have Hollywood careers.

McWilliams, a thespian with a strong improv background, enjoys playing “ The Big T” whom she describes as “mature, sensible and sharp-tongued”. Executive producer, Ralph Farquhar, says, “Cynthia McWilliams is one of the most talented comedic actresses I’ve had an opportunity to work with in quite some time. She, to put it simply, has got “it.” Her comedic timing and improv abilities are matchless. And her chemistry with Kevin Hart is a marvel to behold.”

McWilliams is grateful to have maintained longevity in her acting career and credits networks such as BET, for creating opportunities for herself and others. She says, “BET is an answer to the void of Black voices and perspectives in mainstream media.”

Buddy Lewis, writer for Real Husbands of Hollywood, refers to McWilliams as a “talented performer and an even better person and I only expect bigger and better projects to come her way.” McWilliams may not be waiting long, as she is rumored to have signed on for Season 2 of Real Husbands of Hollywood, as a series regular.
