Terry Crews Joins Fox’s Untitled Cop Comedy

Terry Crews is heading back to network television.

The actor has joined the cast of Fox’s untitled cop comedy from the creators of “Parks and Recreation,” The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Crews will play Sgt. Terry Jeffords, a tough captain of a “diverse” squad of detectives at a New York precinct. He’s described as a no-nonsense father-figure, who’s “built like an NFL linebacker , but stronger.”

Crews, who recently completed Tyler Perry’s Single Mom’s Club, will continue to recur as Jeff Daniels‘ sensitive bodyguard on HBO’s Newsroom, and will also appear in the upcoming Netflix reboot of “Arrested Development.”

Crew’s previous television credits include “Everybody Hates Chris” and “Are We There Yet?” His film credits include Friday After Next, Bridesmaids and The Expendables.
