You can’t keep a talented black actor down for long.

Andre Braugher has landed a co-starring role in FOX’s untitled cop comedy from the creators of “Parks and Recreation,” Blackactors.net has learned.

The series will follow a group of “diverse” detectives who form an odd family in a precinct in a sketchy neighborhood of New York City.

Braugher, who just ended a short stint as a navy ship captain on ABC’s now-cancelled “Last Resort,” will play NYPD Capt. Holt, who, after 30 years on the force, has finally gotten his own command and won’t let anyone, least of all Jake (Andy Samberg), screw it up.

Braugher joins Samberg, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero and Chelsea Peretti.

Braugher’s past television credits include “Men of a Certain Age,” “Law & Order: SVU” and “House M.D.” His film credits include Glory, City of Angels, and Poseidon.
