CW’s The Selection has recast the role of Aspen for it’s second pilot.

British actor Lucien Laviscount has landed  a leading role in the network’s retooled drama pilot The Selection – a Hunger Games-esque drama based on a book series by Kiera Cass.

Set 300 years in the future, an epic romance centering on a working class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. Balancing her loyalty to family, true love, and kingdom, she must attempt to remain true to herself as she navigates the cutthroat competition and palace intrigue, all while a budding rebellion threatens to topple the crown.

Laviscount will play Aspen Leger, a handsome and brave young man of the servant class who supports his entire family. In the pilot, he has a secret  relationship  with the potential queen, something that’s illegal since they’re not in the same caste.

Sean Patrick Thomas will reprise his role in the redeveloped second pilot. The pilot will also star Yael Grobglas, Michael MalarkyCelia Massingham, and Anthony Stewart Head.

Laviscount’s television credits include BBC’s Waterloo Road, Coronation Street and Skins.
