One of’s top performers of 2012 will make his American film debut in the ‘X-Men’ blockbuster franchise.

Omar Sy (pronounced ‘see’)—best known for the French film The Intouchables—has been added to the ever-growing cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past, has learned.

Director Bryan Singer announced the casting news on twitter over the past weekend. However, no details about Sy’s role in the film were revealed.

Multiple websites are speculating that the actor will be suiting up for the role of Bishop, the highest-profile black X-Man who specializes in time travel–the supposed theme of the film.
