‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ Trailer: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, and Anika Noni Rose Star in Explosive War Drama

Half of a Yellow Sun Festival Trailer

The official trailer for Biyi Bandele’s Half of a Yellow Sun has debuted online.

The trailer gives us a first look at the African war tale, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor as a radical Nigerian professor, which will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year.

Based on the Orange Prize-winning novel of the same name by heralded Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, the film will explore the impact of the Nigerian-Biafran War through the interweaving stories of five socially stratified characters: twin sisters (Thandie Newton and Anika Noni Rose), a professor (Ejiofor), a British citizen (Joseph Mawle), and a young houseboy (John Boyega).

No premiere date has been announced, but the Toronto International Film Festival runs from Sept 5 thru Sept 15. Get your tickets by clicking here.

Ejifor can be seen next in Savannah, which is set to be released in theaters next month. He can also be seen in Steve McQueen‘s 12 Years A Slave, which is also scheduled to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year.
