‘Making A Scene’: Oprah Winfrey, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Forest Whitaker and Michael B. Jordan Star in Short Film Series (VIDEO)

The New York Times Magazine has recruited some of this year’s best big-screen performers for a short film series to promote their annual movie issue.

Starring Oprah Winfrey (The Butler), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Forest Whitaker (The Butler/Black Nativity), and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), the films are original works that consist of one-line scripts from noted writers such as Spike Jonze and Greta Gerwig. The series was directed by Oscar winner Janusz Kaminski.

Oprah Winfrey is receiving Oscar buzz for her role as a headstrong wife in Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

Chiwetel Ejiofor is rumored to be a shoe-in for a Best Actor win for his performance in ’12 Years a Slave.’

Forest Whitaker made noise earlier this year for his moving performance as a butler who served under several presidents in The White House.

Newcomer Michael B Jordan earned recognition for his role as Oscar Grant in Fruitvale Station.
