Reg E. Cathey wins Emmy for ‘House of Cards’

Reg E. Cathey Wins 2015 EmmyReg E. Cathey won an Emmy on Saturday for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama for his role as Freddie in “House of Cards.”

Cathey beat out nominees Michael J. Fox in “The Good Wife,” Alan Alda in “The Blacklist,” F. Murray Abraham in “Homeland,” Beau Bridges in “Masters of Sex,” and Pablo Schreiber in “Orange Is The New Black.”

Cathey’s award, for his portrayal of an inner city restauranteur and political confidant, was among two creative Emmys for “House of Cards”–music composition was the other win.

Cathey’s television credits includes HBO’s “The Wire,” “Oz” and “The Corner.”

A taped version of the creative arts Emmys will be telecast Saturday, Sept. 19, on the FXX channel. The Primetime Emmys are set to air Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
