‘The Leftovers’ Season 2: First Look at Kevin Carroll, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Jasmin Brown and Darius McCrary (VIDEO)

HBO’s highly-acclaimed drama series, “The Leftovers,” returns for season 2 this fall with a more diverse cast and we couldn’t be more excited.

The series, created by Damon Lindelof, follows the lives of people after a global event in which many people disappeapred. The network released a featurette video (shown above) introducing the new black characters.

According to the synopsis for the premiere episode, titled “Axis Mundi,” Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) will be uprooting his “family” and moving them from New York to Miracle, Texas. The small town of just a few thousand lost nobody to the so-called Sudden Departure, and now many people, including Kevin and a boatload of religious fanatics, are descending on Miracle for a second chance. Kevin’s new neighbors are the mysterious Murphys — John (Kevin Carroll), Erika (Regina King), and their teenage children Michael (Jovan Adepo) and Yvette, aka Evie (Jasmin Savoy Brown). They appear to be the perfect family, but are hiding more than a few secrets.

The show will also star Darius McCrary (“Family Matters”) as Isaac Ryney, a local palm reader and childhood friend of Carroll’s character.

“The Leftovers” Season 2 premieres Sunday, October 4 at 9pm EST on HBO.
